1st October 2012: Zhenya Strigalev’s ‘Smiling Organizm’ with great review in Echoes Magazine
Zhenya Strigalev, originally from St. Petersburg Russia and now based between London UK and NYC released ‘Smiling Organizm’ with us in June and took the creative jazz world by storm with his infectious yet tricksy melodies mixed with hard driving grooves, beats, and tempo changes, as well as an all star cast of musicians in bass gods Larry Grenadier & Tim Lefebvre, first call drummer Eric Harland, and UK piano giant Liam Noble. He’s still bringing in critical acclaim from around the globe and most recent to drop is a great review in Echoes Magazine, which describes itself as the ‘UK’s Essential Black Music Monthly’ We’ve put some of the highlights from this article in the press section of the Smiling Organizm album page, where you can also listen to excerpts from the entire album or purchase this exciting, completely eccentric, quirky and unique release. And while you’re at it, go on and enjoy one of Zhenya’s tunes below, which we’re sure you’ll be bopping your head to by the end of the track.
