21st May 2012: WWR founder, bassist, and educator Michael Janisch to teach alongside bass legends Rufus Reid and John Goldsby at Sligo Jazz Project
WWR founder, and first call London-based American electric/acoustic bassist Michael Janisch has a busy summer ahead of him not only as a player, but as an educator, appearing in Spain, Ireland and Scotland for a number of renown summer jazz camps.
Of special note, Janisch will teach alongside legendary bassists Rufus Reid and John Goldsby at this years Sligo Jazz Project which runs from the 24-29 July 2012. Other renown educators at this camp include John Taylor and John Riley. Janisch will be teaching mainly on his first four stringed instrument– the electric bass– as well as performing throughout the week on both basses. He will also be giving a lecture on being a successful creative artist in today’s music industry, as well as talking about Whirlwind Recordings and how it is completely possible to earn a living from one’s own art, even in a world full of piracy and people giving away music for free.
