20th July 2012: WWR Artist & Scottish Bassist/Producer/Composer Euan Burton wins ‘Rising Star’ in Jazz Awards…
WWR Artists on a roll in 2012!
Big news comes in last night as WWR Artist Euan Burton (who released ‘Occurrences‘ with us in May and has been receiving a glowing showing in the press ever since) wins the award for ‘Rising Star / Emerging Artist’ in the 2012 Scottish Jazz Awards. No doubt Euan’s remarkable album which showcases his production, compositional and bass talent was instrumental in him becoming nominated, so all of us at WWR are very excited about the news. Big Congrats goes to Euan! Euan joins other WWR artists Phil Robson and Alex Garnett this year who have also been racking up awards and nominations for their latest WWR releases.
‘Occurrences’ features a bumper crop of musicians in Will Vinson alto sax, WWR Artist Mark McKnight on guitar, Steve Hamilton piano, & James Maddren on drums who develop a 7-song suite of music all penned by the bassist.
