8th June 2018: Whirlwind signs Seamus Blake’s ‘The French Connection’ feat. Tony Tixier, Florent Nisse and Gautier Garrigue for March 2019 + July tour

Whirlwind is proud to announce the signing of one of the world’s most distinctive voices on saxophone, Seamus Blake, who has performed with some of the greats of contemporary jazz from Herbie Hancock and Antonio Sanchez to Wayne Shorter and Dave Douglas. He’s released 8 solo albums of his own as a leader (and countless as a co-leader and sideman) and has played on Grammy nominated albums by the Mingus Big Band albums and Gonzalo Rubalcaba.

In March 2019, together with Tony Tixier (piano), Florent Nisse (double bass) and Gautier Garrigue (drums), Seamus brings his highly anticipated new French Connection project to Whirlwind Recordings and will be available as CD, download and 2x 180-gram LP gatefold – Seamus’ first vinyl release.
