19th November 2011: Updates, News, Reviews, from London Jazz Festival and Beyond………….
Whirlwind Recordings artists have been busy all over the jazz world. There has been the Michael Janisch project with co-leader Aruan Ortiz featuring Greg Osby performing 14 sold out concerts around Europe including 2 full houses at the London Jazz Festival at Pizza Express Jazz Club (where the music has been recorded as well, hint hint), Partikel has done some extensive touring around the UK to rave reviews and a sold out show at the Spice of Life in London (click HERE for a review from the road), Phil Robson performed a stellar set at the Purcel Room in the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London featuring Mark Turner and the rest of the band from ‘The Immeasurable Code’ (Click HERE for Ring Modulator review)(Click HERE for a London Jazz review)(Click HERE for Jazz Breakfast review)(Click HERE for Jazz Journal review), and Jeff Williams had a sell out crowd at the Green Note in Camden and by all reports they were on fire. Alex Garnett is reportedly playing in over 12 concerts during the festival so chances are if you’re out and about, you’ll see him!
There’s plenty more going on so go out and catch some great live music…..
