20th March 2013: The Whirlwind Sessions in full flow: Update + live review & artwork of launch night from Alban Low’s ‘Art of Jazz’
The Whirlwind Sessions kicked off with a bang on March 8 and we’ve had another great night since lead by WWR Jeff Williams. So far both nights have been full with people and energy until 3 am. The buzz is about Londontown about the place to be on a friday night late.
We’ve just been alerted to this great online review from Alban Low’s blog site ‘Art of Jazz‘ Alban is a fantastic London-based drawer, illustrator and all around visual artist who has done work for WWR in the past including all the original artwork for Partikel’s Cohesion record.
Alban came down to the first show on the 8th of March and sketched the musicians he saw performing including WWR’s own Michael Janisch (see right) and a number of other musicians on the night. He also wrote about the night in a not-so-typical-live-music-review manner but at the same time in a highly creative way which we thought was pretty cool.
The Whirlwind Sessions are in full flow now, so come down to Pizza Express every friday and enjoy the hang. And it’s free entrance plus the entire catalog of WWR albums are on sale at 1/2 the normal price (exclusive to the WWR sessions). See you there!
