The Aruan Ortiz and Michael Janisch quintet feat. Greg Osby is releasing their debut album ‘Banned in London’ this NOV, and in celebration they will be embarking on a major European tour, with an official launch event as headliners performing at London Jazz Festival. The band will appear at one of London’s most famous venues, The Purcell Room of the Southbank Center in Central London, and tickets are now on sale on the official London Jazz Festival website. Other headliners this year include Ambrose Akinmusire, Kenny Wheeler, Chick Corea, Esperanza Spalding, and Sonny Rollins. The London Jazz Festival is the captial’s biggest pan-city music festival, taking place annually in November, and one of the largest such festivals of its kind in the world. The Festival has long been acclaimed for showcasing hundreds of events at dozens of venues, featuring a heady mix of talent from around the world. Widely acknowledged for delivering world-class artists and emerging stars, the Festival continues to take jazz to a massive audience, in one of UK’s landmark music events.
The band has also confirmed a performance at one of the UK’s most respected historic venues: St. George’s in Bristol, NOV 8 2012.
