Rez Abbasi is a Pakistani-American jazz guitarist, composer, and bandleader known for his distinct sound that blends elements of jazz, South Asian classical music, and contemporary genres. He has been a prominent figure in the New York City jazz scene for over two decades, performing and recording with many notable artists, including Rudresh Mahanthappa, Vijay Iyer, and Steve Lehman. Abbasi is also the leader of the group Indo-Pak Coalition, which showcases his innovative approach to combining jazz improvisation with Indian classical music.
