13th June 2014: New video for ‘First Meeting: Live in London, Volume 1’ by Lee Konitz, Dan Tepfer, Michael Janisch, Jeff Williams now live

Just on Tuesday we released ‘First Meeting: Live in London, Volume 1‘ by the one and only Lee Konitz (who was age 83 at the time of the recording and is still going strong!), NYC-based Pianist Dan Tepfer, WWR’s own Michael Janisch and legendary drummer Jeff Williams, who also has two albums out with us.

The initial feedback from fans and critics around the world has been overwhelmingly positive and we’re very proud to release an album from such an icon of this music.  Lee is truly one of the all time greats.

We just put the finishing touches on a promo video and were able to interview Lee at his home in NYC (who has some great insights) as well as catch Dan, Michael and Jeff when they were all in London.  Everyone has some good things to say about the album, Lee and on the music and improvisation.
