Pianist Micah Thomas is a young pianist tipped for greatness. His first appearance on Whirlwind Recordings comes as part of the quintet on In Common 2, alongside Walter Smith III and Matthew Stevens.

Thomas grew up in Columbus, Ohio, launching onto the scene in 2017 when he performed alongside Columbus Jazz Orchestra with John Clayton and Joshua Redman for their 45^th Anniversary concert. Thomas now exists in an exciting group of New York-based contemporaries Immanuel Wilkins, Joel Ross and Harish Raghavan, as well as regularly performing alongside Lage Lund, Melissa Aldana, Stacy Dillard and Joshua Redman. His self-released debut album Tide came out in 2020.
