Macie Stewart is a violinist, pianist and singer currently residing in Chicago, Illinois. Her first appearance on Whirlwind comes alongside guitarist and fellow Chicagoan Matt Gold on his debut album Imagined Sky.

Stewart’s work sees her cover a significant creative territory. AS an improviser, she has appeared in concert with Ken Vandermark, Tomeka Rein and Makaya McCraven, and has worked as a session musician for artists ranging from SZA to Whitney and Steve Gunn. She currently leads her band OHMME, and plays in an improvising duo alongside cellist Lia Kohl.
