28th April 2016: Four launch dates at Ronnie Scotts early next month for Preston Glasgow Lowe (debut album out tomorrow) plus London Jazz reviews live show.
British trio Preston – Glasgow – Lowe release their eponymous debut album with an energetic and technically thrilling record of original material. Writing and performing together since 2012, London-based David Preston (guitar), Kevin Glasgow (six-string electric bass) and Laurie Lowe (drums) have steadily honed their own particular style of complex riffs and thunderous rhythms complete with subtle, low-level electronics and overdubs. The project’s creative and developmental processes open up a panoply of textures and colors – from open, contemplative oases to heavyweight, blistering maelstrom – yet it all emanates from this close collaboration of just three musically-incisive minds.
Preston – Glasgow – Lowe have been busy touring in support of the album and will be appearing at four sold out dates at Ronnie Scotts early next month. (details)
Here’s a review of their recent show in Bristol (for details of all Preston – Glasgow – Lowe tour dates click: here ) plus a chance to listen again to Preston Glasgow Lowe reviewed on a recent Slice of Jazz show on Radio Cardiff and to read the album and tour preview in Jazzwise Magazine.
“The level of musicianship, commitment, and three-way empathy on display here makes for a thoroughly rewarding evening.”
