10th September 2021: Drummer Tommy Crane to release debut solo album ‘We’re All Improvisers Now’ in 2022
We’re very pleased to announce the signing of New York/Montreal-based drummer Tommy Crane for his debut solo album We’re All Improvisers Now – a billowing, technicolor journey blending ambient soundscapes with shimmering melody and Crane’s flawless ear for rhythm. Awash with synths, alive with drums, it’s an instrumental journey into Crane’s innerspace.
Crane has been playing drums in some of the jazz world’s most celebrated bands for the past two decades, but until this year had never released a solo album. Over lockdown, he seized his chance to combine the worlds of live drumming and electronic production, collaborating with guests including Pietro Amato, Simon Angell, Jordan Brooks, Charlotte Greve, Logan Richardson and Chris Speed.
Stay tuned for more updates on the album, which drops in April of 2022. See more of Tommy’s work at www.doubleberg.com
