20th October 2022: Brand new single ‘That Thing’ by Kira Linn out today and premiered on Jazzwise ahead of Spring 2023 album release

‘That Thing’ is the new single from German saxophonist and vocalist Kira Linn from her forthcoming new album Illusion.

Illusion will drop in April 2023: “The album reflects emotions and thoughts that arose in a time of loneliness, silence and uncertainty. During this period I learned to enjoy the deceleration, set out to discover and try out new things,” says Linn.

The first single – ‘That Thing’ – is out now, streaming and available for download on all platforms. Listen here.

And check out the video which was premiered on UK magazine Jazzwise today who called Linn a “rising baritone sax star”.

‘That Thing’,  by Linn and her Linntett, describes the search for that certain something that seems to be lost: the spark, the enthusiasm, the twinkle in the eye. This feeling is also reflected in her melancholy expression on the cover, while the green colorworld surrounding her stands for hope. As a novelty, Kira Linn sings for the first time in one of her tracks – unexcited and thoughtful, but also hauntingly between neo-soul and jazz. An immensely attractive introduction for the album Illusion, which will be released April 7 2023.
