“Very pleased to announce my new record, Some Other Time comes out in 2 days (Oct. 29, Whirlwind Recordings).  I’m quite proud of it and think its my best work to date.  It is a mixed bag of original compositions by yours truly and some arrangements of songs that I love.  I wanted a record that would cover a wide range of styles, but not lose its feeling of continuity.  I needed a great band that could play any style of music, while also having a clear understanding and respect for the jazz tradition.  Our roots in jazz music is the glue that binds it all together.  Rudy Royston (drums), Doug Wamble (guitar), Dan Kaufman (piano), Michael Janisch (bass), and Patrick Cornelius (alto sax) played amazing and brought my music to life (check out the guitar solos by Doug Wamble!).  You can preview tracks and find out more info on my newly designed website, www.nickvayenas.com.  We will be doing a CD release show in New York on February 7th.

 

I am also currently on the road with the one and only Michael Buble, and we are having a blast touring all around the USA.  I’m very lucky to get to travel and play music with some of my best friends.  And last but certainly not least, GO RED SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
