Singer-songwriter Becca Stevens tests the limits of musical identity, incorporating everything from jazz to Irish folk to indie rock into her music. Stevens appears on Whirlwind Recordings for the first time as part of Michael Olatuja’s Lagos Pepper Soup project.

Since her 2008 debut Tea Bye Sea, North Carolina-native Stevens has pursued a variety of solo projects and high-profile collaborations. Close collaborators include Snarky Puppy’s Michael League, Jacob Collier, Vulfpeck’s Cory Wong and David Crosby, and she has appeared with Eric Harland, Brad Mehldau, José James and Lionel Loueke in a jazz context. Her 2020 release WONDERBLOOM sees her collaborate with some 40 artists.
