Arthur Hnatek is a drummer and composer from Geneva, currently based in Berlin. Active as an electronic artist as well as a leader and sideman, Arthur’s solo work moves fluidly between electronically produced textures and live elements. His released his debut solo record Static on Whirlwind with his award-winning trio featuring Fabien Iannone (bass) and Francesco Geminiani (saxophones).

Aside from his blossoming solo career, Arthur regularly appears as a sideman alongside Tigran Hamasyan and Erik Truffaz, and has performed with Shai Maestro, Dhafer Youssef and Donny McCaslin. His solo electronica project SWIMS informs his wider compositional style, working with the intricacies of modular synths. As a composer, he has written for orchestra, string quartets, chamber ensemble, big bands and small ensembles, and has been commissioned by Puplinge Classique Festival, Jeunesse Musicale of Switzerland, Geneva Brass Festival and L’Orchestre Quipasseparlà.
