13th July 2022: Announcing the third Whirlwind release from Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet – ‘Spirit To All’ – dropping September 23

We’re delighted to announce the third release on Whirlwind from Polish bassist and composer Wojtek Mazolewski and his Quintet (WMQ).  Spirit To All will drop on Whirlwind Recordings September 23 in CD / DL / LP.

Mazolewski vigorously combines tradition and modernity, the analog sound of his quintet harking back to the jazz masters, yet infused with electronica and other contemporary influences. Echoes of Miles Davis, Eric Dolphy, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nirvana and Aphex Twin are, therefore, all interwoven. Explosive and eclectic concerts are the trademark of Mazolewski’s music and his long-standing quintet of Joanna Duda, Marek Pospieszalski, Oskar Torok and Qba Janicki has become one of the most popular jazz crossover groups in his native Poland as well as further abroad in Europe.  His previous two releases on Whirlwind were received with widespread global acclaim: POLKA: Worldwide Deluxe Edition, and When Angels Fall.
