12th March 2011: Alex Garnett signs to WWR for 2011 release

London based Saxophonist Alex Garnett will be releasing his highly anticipated debut album ‘Serpent’ on WWR later in the year. Garnett has enjoyed first call saxophone status for nearly 2 decades on the European scene, so fans of his will no doubt welcome this long awaited release with open ears. This heavy hitting album showcases 8 colorful, challenging, yet highly melodic originals penned by Garnett and features an all-star rhythm section of Willie Jones III on drums, Anthony Wonsey on piano, and Michael Janisch on acoustic bass. A pre-release tour will take place around the UK in April (see ‘Events’). Alex has a reputation as one of the finest saxophonists of the post bop world on both sides of the pond, and we are very pleased and honored to be releasing this debut. More info to come very soon.
