Ernesto Simpson is one of the most in demand drummers of his generation, playing with many of the marquee artists on the jazz/world international scene.

Originally from Camaguey, Cuba, his musical upbringing was influenced by a complexity of styles of Classical Percussion, African, Afro-Cuban and South American rhythms.  Simpson has lived and worked as a 1st call musician in Miami, New York City and now in London, England, where he based.  Currently performing in the ensembles of musical luminaries Richard Bona and Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Simpson has also shared the stage with renowned musicians such as Herbie Hancock, George Benson, Dizzy Guillespie, Paquito D’Rivera, Ron Affif, Samuel Torres, Yosvany Terry, Helio Alves, Brian Lynch, Manuel Valera, The Rodriguez Brothers, Mike Stern, Herbie Hancock, Mark Murphy, Gino Sitson, Phil Robson, James Genus, Ray Barretto, Sergio Brandao.   Simpson has been on dozens of recordings to date, gives workshops and lectures around the world, and endorses Yamaha drums, Sabian Cymbals, and Vic Firth Sticks.
