9th May 2020: “One to watch”: Rebecca Nash’s Peaceful King + ★★★★ Jazzwise Review + reaction from Jazz Journal, All About Jazz and more
Peaceful King was promising keyboardist and composer Rebecca Nash‘s first major recording as leader. An album with collaboration at its core, it takes inspiration from an array of sources – rock, drum-and-bass, ‘70s fusion, soul-jazz and electronica, alongside singer-songwriter influences – and melts them into a progressive landscape that reflects the band’s wide-ranging sensibilities. Nash (Entropi, Paradox Ensemble and vocalist Sara Colman‘s band) is joined by Colman and Atlas, featuring long-term collaborators Nick Malcolm (trumpet) and Matt Fisher (drums) plus Thomas Seminar Ford (electric guitar) and Chris Mapp (electric bass, electronics).
