23rd August 2015: Alice Zawadzki live at Manchester Jazz Festival video plus details of very special show at The Quarry Theatre, Bedford September 4th 2015.

On September 4th 2015, Alice will be performing at The Quarry Theatre at St Lukes, Bedford as part of the ‘A Song For You’ series of concerts. (See details)

In ‘I Chew Thorns With Roses’, Alice relates the story of her grandmother, Irena, drawing upon Irena’s memoirs and the extensive research of Alice’s father, celebrated historian, Hubert Zawadzki.  The evening begins with Hubert’s live multimedia narration – an informative and compelling history of Central and Eastern Europe unfolding through Irena’s journey. Hubert is joined by choreographer and dancer Katarzyna Witek, guitarist Alex Roth, and Alice on vocals and violin.

The second part of the evening is Alice’s own story, as showcased in her latest album, China Lane.
